About Ena
Ena Marija Zamirič is an Australian-born artist of Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian heritage.
Born to refugee family in Australia after they fled the war in Yugoslavia, she was always surrounded by music, passion and a deep curiosity. Ena was always found outside exploring the world around her, trying things out of her comfort zone and often spent time with interesting people and animals. Having grown up in a home of struggle and instability, opportunity was much harder to find. This inspired Ena to work hard and fight for her dreams.
She embraced the arts since her early years and honed her skills in diverse modern dance styles, where she danced for 14 years in Canberra at Dance Development Centre and Tuggeranong Arts Centre. Although this wasn’t what her family dreamed for her at first, she committed herself fully to the arts and moved to Sydney to pursue her dreams of acting, despite all odds.
She is driven by her desire to foster diversity and represent her cultural background, aiming to create a more inclusive future for today’s generation.
