About Brett
Brett Chynoweth is from Melbourne, Wurundjeri land, and acknowledges the Wurundjeri people. Brett is a performing artist, collaborator and Principal Artist of The Australian Ballet.
He began training at an early age, which afforded him opportunities to tour regional Australia extensively. He joined The Australian Ballet in 2009 and was promoted to Principal Artist in 2018. He has worked, learnt and performed internationally with The Royal Ballet – Covent Garden, Nederlands Dans Theater, and as a Guest Principal of Birmingham Royal Ballet, as well as touring nationally and internationally with The Australian Ballet.
Brett has worked as a collaborator with choreographers, designers, directors, composers and conductors, and has significant media and engagement experience. With a lived passion for the arts and a career spanning over a decade, Brett is eager to enrich his relationship with the broader sector and to be a part of the future possibilities.
