Technical Direction Company (TDC) and National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) are proud to further strengthen their relationship in 2016, providing invaluable expertise, guidance and support to the next generation of Australia’s artists and technical theatre designers and practitioners.

Through the partnership, TDC will provide specialist consultation and support on video technology, specifically the latest advances in projection, media servers, and LED technology and its dynamic use in live entertainment to NIDA for teaching and production purposes, as well as technical support for NIDA student productions.

TDC was an integral sponsor of the successful opening of NIDA’s landmark Graduate School last year. An important step in NIDA’s evolution, the building was officially opened by Prime Minister of Australia the Hon Malcolm Turnbull MP, Hollywood star and NIDA graduate Mel Gibson AO, and Minister for the Arts the Hon Senator Mitch Fifield.

Geraldine Shine, General Manager of TDC said: “The evolution of video technology is changing rapidly every day. With our vast experience and extensive range of equipment TDC is at the forefront of delivering these solutions. We are proud to be continuing our association with NIDA and we look forward to working with the staff and students to provide technical knowledge and industry-readiness throughout 2016.”

NIDA Director/CEO, Lynne Williams said the institute is looking forward to working with TDC in 2016.

“We are grateful for TDC’s generous contribution to NIDA, and their commitment to helping shape Australia’s next generation of creative practitioners.”

This year marks the second year of the partnership, which promotes the creative potential of advanced technology in the performance space.
