Isabella Stadler’s passion, hard work and desire to influence the evolution of production and staging in Australia’s performing arts industry has been recognised.

NIDA is proud to share that Issy is the recipient of The Rob Guest Endowment Technical Award in Honour of Sue Nattrass for 2014.

The ANZ Trustees Foundation: Rob Guest Endowment is one of Australia’s most exciting scholarship programs, providing financial assistance and industry support to the next generation of musical theatre stars, creators and musicians. Each year three awards are presented in different categories with the Technical Award bestowed upon a current member of a technical department of theatre to fund the tuition and experience needed to help them become a leader in their field.

Issy has always had a love of all things theatre-focussed but it was at NIDA where she developed a keen interest in staging and automation. This area of theatre quickly developed into a passion through extensive internships and work placements. Since graduating last year with a Bachelor of Dramatic Art (Production) degree, Issy has gained a wealth of industry experience and cannot wait to put the funding to good use.

“I am very excited and am eager to take advantage of this incredible honour,” commented Issy. “It’s also wonderful that the Rob Guest Foundation acknowledges some of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes!”

2014 has been a busy year for Issy which has seen her work on some of the biggest musical theatre productions in the country including Strictly Ballroom and Dirty Dancing The Classic Story on Stage. She has also been working with the Sydney Chamber Orchestra for which she is now the new Company Production Manager.

NIDA wishes her the best of luck in the future!
