NIDA grads in winning form at Sydney Theatre Awards

NIDA congratulates the alumni of Australia’s leading centre for dramatic arts who were acknowledged by their peers last night at the Sydney Theatre Awards.

NIDA congratulates the alumni of Australia’s leading centre for dramatic arts who were acknowledged by their peers last night at the Sydney Theatre Awards.
Recognised for their outstanding work in 2014, the following NIDA graduates were the best in their field.
Richard Roxburgh took out the Best Actor category for his performance in Cyrano de Bergerac.
Josh McConville won an award for Best Supporting Actor in an Independent Production for Noises Off.
Robert Grubb followed suit and won the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for his performance in Strictly Ballroom.
Julie Lynch took out the category for Best Costume Design for her work on Noises Off.
NIDA Director/CEO, Lynne Williams was delighted to see NIDA alumni being recognised for their work in theatre.
“Congratulations from all at NIDA to our alumni who continue to lead the way in innovative theatre-making in Australia and provide such strong role models for our current students,” commented Ms Williams.
“The fact that so many NIDA alumni were nominated for the Sydney Theatre Awards, including some of our most recent graduates, is testament to the continuing excellence of NIDA education and training and our preparation of students to be creative leaders across all disciplines within the arts and entertainment industry.”
