Media Super supports NIDA students

Media Super is proud to announce a new partnership with the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), which will see the creative sector’s own industry super fund provide four bursaries of $2,500 each year during a three-year period to students who qualify for financial assistance in 2016.

Media Super is proud to announce a new partnership with the National Institute of Dramatic Art, which will see the creative sector’s own industry super fund provide four bursaries of $2,500 each year during a three-year period to students who qualify for financial assistance in 2016.

The bursaries will assist four NIDA students of any discipline throughout their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree as they balance Sydney living expenses and full-time study.

Media Super Chief Executive Officer, Graeme Russell, said the industry super fund is pleased to be working with NIDA in support of Australia’s next generation of creative professionals.

‘While our overriding objective is to grow the retirement savings of our members, a key focus for Media Super is to also support our community right throughout their working life. We’re really pleased to be partnering with NIDA to help emerging artists at the beginning of their professional and creative journey,’ he said.

‘As the peak national institution for performing arts training and education, NIDA has been nurturing students in a diverse range of creative disciplines for over 50 years, and we’re helping many of those same people as they move into the later stages of their lives. By working together in this way, NIDA and Media Super will continue to support the enrichment of Australia’s creative and cultural sector.’

NIDA Director/CEO, Lynne Williams said the institute is looking forward to partnering with Media Super.

‘NIDA’s full-time students regularly devote upwards of 60 hours of study time each week through classes, rehearsals, performances and industry placements – a commitment that is often impossible to juggle with part-time work. Media Super’s generous contribution will be welcomed by new students in need of financial assistance,’ commented Ms Williams.
