Due to popular demand, NIDA Corporate is expanding its public course offerings in 2015 to include three new exciting and dynamic programs for business professionals. The new courses include:

  • Working the Room a networking course focussing on techniques to effectively build genuine rapport in business and social situations
  • Persuasive Negotiation a course that will empower you with techniques to think spontaneously and navigate crucial negotiation situations
  • Online Video Presentation a digital presenting course focussing on techniques to achieve effective communication in the online space

Similar to all NIDA Corporate courses, the new programs draw on NIDA’s world-renowned training for actors to satisfy the needs of business professionals.

Both Persuasive Negotiation and Working the Room use key elements of improvisation techniques to increase confidence, creativity and collaboration. These skills, as taught in the rehearsal rooms at NIDA, have been adapted and distilled into effective communications approaches for the corporate environment.

Online Video Presentation has been developed in response to the rapid change in the way people communicate in the business sector. Presenting online has become an increasingly important skills area for professionals needing to reach both their external and internal audiences across Australia and the world. Storytelling techniques, discovering personal presence and authenticity elements vital to great screen acting are introduced through our training activities to enhance the way that ideas and information are communicated on screen.

With activities increasing by a third from 2014, the expansion of NIDA Corporate’s offering reflects the growing demand for our successful public courses, customised training and one-to-one coaching, as well as the greater need for corporate professionals to be effective communicators across all mediums and social settings.

The course programming has been a collaborative effort between NIDA Corporate staff and tutors, and we look forward to launching these programs in the second half of 2015.
